Fly Fishing has long been one of the most quintessential British Fieldsports. Whether you enjoy chasing the elusive Atlantic Salmon or pitting your wits against wily wild Brown Trout, the tranquillity and skill of Fly Fishing on UK streams and rivers offers some of the most iconic sport in the world.
Popular throughout the UK, the variety of sport available is staggering. William Powell Sporting have close connections to some of the most exclusive fishing available, from the chalk streams of Hampshire to world-renowned Salmon and Sea Trout rivers of the north and across Scotland.

The UK fishing Season does vary somewhat from river to river, with beats also often implementing their own dates on top of this with individual rivers delivering their best sport at differing times of year. For example, the Wye is a characteristic spring Salmon river compared to the Earn’s excellent late season sport. Whilst the Mayfly hatches on chalk streams in late May and early June offer some of the most sought after sport in the world, and for the most avid of anglers, Grayling fishing offers a challenge throughout the winter months.
