Advice to Shoots when Game Dealers no longer accept lead shot

The shooting industry is currently facing significant changes which will undoubtedly shape the future of the sport to varying degrees. One such change is the move away from lead shotgun cartridges to non-toxic alternatives, often including the likes of Steel, Bismuth, tungsten and tungsten matrix.

The shooting industry is fully dependent on game entering the food chain, with large game meat purchasers placing suppliers under increasing pressure to only provide game with no trace of lead shot. This clearly places added pressure on shoots supplying NGDA members.

How are shoots likely to guarantee this, and what will the consequences be if lead enters the game dealers? Find out more from our recent article published on the Guns on Pegs website…
