Drumlanrig Shoot

The combination of high partridges and pheasants with the backdrop of Drumlanrig Castle is difficult to beat and has earnt this shoot the commanding reputation it holds today.

Now one of the most sought-after shoots in the country, Drumlanrig Estate is located in Dumfries and Galloway and offers a truly unique setting for every type of shooting. Set amongst the estates 90,000 acres is Drumlanrig Castle, the focal point of the shoot day, where teams meet in the morning for coffee, and indulge in a hearty lunch and post shoot tea.

The principal pheasant shooting area on the estate spans some 15,000 acres, comprising three excellent beats with 25 drives, ranging from “difficult” to “extreme”. These 25 exhilarating drives vary from extremely high gliding pheasant and partridges on bracken-clad hills, to perfectly positioned game covers and mixed mature woodlands, all of which differ in their nature, providing a variety of terrain throughout the day.
