The Cyffylliog shoot is located at the foothills of the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, Denbighshire, in North Wales. This area is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, and for good reason too. The shoot is regarded as one of the finest in North Wales providing challenging pheasant and partridge shooting over an impressive 5,000 acres, which benefit from six extensive and deep valleys. This ideal topography for both pheasant and partridge shooting sees both quarries driven over the guns from a mixture of gorse and bracken banks, as well as from game cover strips and woodland, with guns standing expectantly below.
Signature drives include “The Fron”, “Foel Ucha” and “Gorse Maze”, with these and others challenging even the most capable of teams.
The shoot caters for larger days until Christmas with smaller days in January. Single peg days are also available if this is of interest.
The shoot is located 50 minutes from the M6 junction of the M56 and for those travelling by private plane, Hawarden airport is located approximately 30 minutes from the shoot, providing easy and convenient access.
The shoot also has a reputation for hospitability at the highest level. The farmhouse at the shoot provides the setting for outstanding cuisine by one of the region’s top restaurateurs. Teams can choose their main meal to be taken either at lunchtime or at dinner with the cuisine being a modern twist on European, with the chef making the most of the locally sourced produce.
The shoot is in the process of developing high-quality accommodation, which will include 10 en-suite bedrooms and a large full height dining and sitting area with an elevated open plan bar overlooking the dining area. The accommodation will be available for occupation from the 2021/2022 season. Prior to this, teams will be able to be accommodated in a variety of local quality hotels and pubs.
