William Powell Sporting

Peak District Grouse at their finest

Crag is located in the Peak District National Park on the boundary between the counties of Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire and extends to almost about 6,500 acres. This area is sufficient to provide two separate days shooting should the party wish to shoot two consecutive days or a good degree of flexibility (allowing for wind direction, etc.) when shooting just one day. The two beats – the Home Beat and The Goyt provide a good variety of shooting with some lines of traditional butts, some sunken butts and a couple of gulley drives which provide high driven birds of a fairly testing nature!

In addition to the moors those shooting at Crag will stay in the Earl’s private shooting lodge – Crag Hall. This extremely comfortable 14 bedroomed lodge was originally built in 1796 and is located less than half a mile from the heather moorland in a lovely secluded location.

The shooting is let on the basis of a bag of 125 brace to a line of 9 Guns at a rate of £150 plus vat per brace. The lodge is charged out on an all-inclusive rate of £2750 plus vat per night to include all meals and drinks from arrival the evening before shooting to tea at the end of the shoot day itself.

This is a unique opportunity to shoot on a very special private driven grouse moor.
