The Colesbourne Estate lies in the beautiful setting of the Churn Valley, halfway between Cirencester and Cheltenham and at the very heart of the Cotswold Countryside. It extends to over 2500 acres of which nearly a third is woodland. This mixed age broadleaf and conifer plantations are supplemented by well sited game covers and provide a range of exciting pheasant drives to rival any in the area.
Therberts Hill, Lyde Bank and Badgersbury are all ‘old’ favourites and these are now being supplemented with some new drives under the guidance of the experienced team lead by Matthew Newell.
The new layout and number of drives will allow two full days of shooting each week. Lunch is taken in a private room at the Colesbourne Inn or in the Lunch Room on the Estate itself.
A wide range of choices
The Cotswolds is an area blessed with a huge range of accommodation options and there are a good number of excellent hotels within easy reach of the Colesbourne shoot.
The Village Inn at Colesbourne has nine rooms and is in the perfect location in the heart of the Estate, and the luxurious Cowley Manor Hotel is only a few minutes down the road. The Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach and the Greenway Hotel at Shurdington are also under 20 minutes’ drive away.
